Soil & Soul: Farming in the Sangamon River Valley
On behalf of all of us at our United Community Banks, we are honored to support the "Soil and Soul" program within the Sangamon Experience at the University of Illinois Springfield. This program features the stories of ten farmers from the Sangamon River Valley and beautifully captures the heart and heritage of those who work the land—stories that are as timeless as they are inspiring.
We are proud to help share these stories that not only celebrate hard work and legacies of those featured, but also bring recognition of the hard work and dedication of all our area farmers and the profound role they play in shaping our communities, our local economies, and our region’s future.
We are grateful to all the featured individuals and their families for sharing their journeys and achievements captured in this exhibit. We also want to thank the teams at the UIS, the Sangamon Experience, filmmakers Rich Saal and Noah Sabich and everyone involved in bringing these stories to life.
